Adventure Club: Summer

Registration Form

Summer Parent/Guardian Handbook

The Adventure Club Summer Program is open to children three years old through those who completed 5th grade in the previous school year. Our program is designed to meet the needs of local families who need quality, affordable care for their children. We offer children a safe, caring and fun place to spend their summer vacation. Our summer teachers provide the children social, emotional, physical and spiritual guidance as they lead them in lots of fun-filled activities throughout the summer.

Each year registration for the summer program opens to members of Simpsonville Baptist Church and those families already enrolled in Adventure Club programs on March 1. Registration opens to the general public on March 21. The summer program has a 3 day minimum. Families will only be able to register for 1 or 2 days if spots are available at the end of April. There is a $40 Actitvity fee for the summer due at registration. Add another $5 and the child will be registered for the After-School Program at Adventure Club!

The summer program will officially begin the day immediately following the last day of school and will end in August, the day before school begins. Our summer hours are 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Adventure Club will be closed Memorial day and July 4 in observance of Independence Day. If July 4 falls on the weekend, a day will be scheduled to observe this holiday. A calendar of summer events will be available close to the beginning of each summer.

The Adventure Club staff works hard to ensure that our children have the best possible experience while attending the summer program. AC brings new activities each year to ensure all children have a new experience with the same safe and secure environment. The AC staff provides weekly themed activities that go along with our crafts, career days, devotions, and game activities. We also provide several opportunities throughout the summer for the children to go on fun field trips in the Louisville area. Throughout the summer, the children also have several opportunities to choose enrichment classesto be a part of. The enrichment classes will be an additional cost paid directly to the teacher. The enrichment classes include dance and piano lessons. We also daily participate in the Shelby County Library's summer reading program. Each morning till lunch time the children Kindergarten through 5 grade will take walking field tirps to Simpsonville Park to utilize the spacious grounds with planned activities and games.

Meals and Snacks

Parents are required to send a sack lunch and drink for their children each day. The lunch should include a protein, vegetable and a fruit. Adventure Club serves all food "as is," so please do not send items that need to be heated up. Adventure Club provides breakfast and an afternoon snack for all children.

Adventure Club is working on state regulations to prepare meals beginning in June. We do not have the exact date of this new meal program but we are working very hard to have it set up by our summer program. Adventure Club will begin to serve lunches.

Rest Time

All children are required to participate in a daily rest time. The children are allowed to bring in a book during rest time. For school age children, we have quiet areas for the children to play or lay on a mat if they would like. This is not a naptime, it is strictly a rest period.
