"Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." This scripture from Deuteronomy 6, called the "shema," has been a central verse for the people of God through history. In the New Testament Jesus said that this was the greatest commandment, and followed it by saying that we should love our neighbor like we love ourselves.
When we passionately love God, we are passionate about sharing the love of Christ by caring for each other and positively impacting our communities. We'll see expressions of how we love God in our daily lives, as well as through our worship times together.
At SBC we show our love for God in different ways and at different times. On Sunday mornings, we worship together through song, creativity (drama, testimonies, multi-media), prayer and hearing the Word of God. We also love and worship Him through our small group Bible studies and discipleship classes on Sunday mornings and evenings, and Wednesday evenings. "Love God" is really the first step for all of us. It connects and gives meaning to why we Grow Together and Serve the World.
