What to Expect
So you've checked out our website. Now your ready to check out our church.
You're probably wondering what you should expect on your first trip here. We've provided answers to a few questions you may be asking yourself. And if there is something you don't see answered here, ask us through Facebook or email and we'll help you out as much as we can to make your first trip here a great one.
I noticed you have two buildings on your campus. Which one do I enter?
Our 8:30 & 11AM worship services are held in our Family Life Center, which is the building on the right side of our campus. A majority of our Sunday School classes are held in this building as well. Other classes are held in our original building, which is the building on the left. You can actually see both buildings in the background picture. We are working on new signage to make this easier for you in the future.
Can I wear jeans or should I break out my suit and tie?
Whatever you like. People wear a little bit of everything at our church. It's not uncommon to see hundreds of people wearing blue jeans. If wearing a suit is more your style though, feel free to wear it. At SBC, we don't get caught up on what you wearing; we're just glad you're here.
Do I need to keep my little one with me during the service or is their childcare?
It's by no means a requirement to keep them with you in the service. We do however offer a great nursery for Bed Babies, 1 year olds, and 2 year olds during our service and our Sunday School. We recommend if you have a little one to allow one of our wonderful volunteers to care for them. You can rest assured they will be loved and kept safe while you worship. Be sure to check out our Children's page under Grow Together for more information.
Do you have anything special for the older children during the service?
We do. Right before our pastor starts the sermon, we dismiss all children 3 years old through 5th grade. Those 3, 4, and in Kindergarten go to Pre-school Church. Those 1st through 5th grade attend Children's Church.
What are your services like?
Thanks for asking!
Our services, which start at 8:30 & 11am every Sunday morning, would be considered a blended service of sorts: elements of newer, contemporary music along with beloved hymns that have been sung by the people of God for many years; purposeful dramas and video clips that inform, teach, and inspire; relevant, Biblical preaching that calls us to be like Jesus. Hopefully you'll find the people here to be welcoming and friendly (that comes from the "be like Jesus" teaching).
We love to worship through singing, and we really encourage people sing out loud, clap, tap your feet.....and we discourage just being a spectator. We want everyone in the game! So even if you're unsure of your musical ability, remember that all you need to do is make a joyful noise!
Do you have anything else besides your worship service on Sunday mornings?
We offer Sunday School classes at 9:45am. We have classes for all ages and will gladly help you find the right one for you. Check out our Grow Together page to see why we value Sunday School at Simpsonville.
